Dr. Desai received his medical degree from South Gujarat University, India and completed surgical training at Sydenham Hospital in New York and a residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Desai completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck surgery at the University of Illinois-Eye & Ear infirmary, Chicago. He has held faculty positions at the University of Illinois School of Medicine and the Chicago Medical School. Dr. Desai has practiced in Lake County and has served as a consultant for the Veterans Health Administration for over 30 years.

Dr. Desai is Board certified in Otolaryngology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck surgery. He has been listed in US News & World Report Top Doctors. Dr. Desai practices the full range of both adult and pediatric otolaryngology surgery with special interests in endoscopic sinus and nasal surgery, cancer treatment of the head and neck, and treatment of snoring and sleep apnea.

Dr. Gregory J. Kruper, MD is a physician and surgeon treating all diseases of the ear, nose and throat. Dr. Kruper has special interest in reconstructive surgery of facial defects, nose and sinus disease, ear surgery, and surgery of the salivary and thyroid glands. Dr. Kruper sees patients of all ages from the pediatric population to senior citizens.

Dr. Kruper is a native of York, Pennsylvania and received his undergraduate education from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where he studied biochemistry and molecular biology. He attended Case Western Reserve University Medical School in Cleveland, OH where he performed research on the effects of sleep apnea on the heart and lungs. He then completed his internship and residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. There he did research on the reconstruction of face and neck wounds, pediatric sinus disease, and tinnitus. He has published multiple peer reviewed articles in those fields.

Dr. Nelson grew up in Pennsylvania. He received a bachelors and masters degree in biochemistry and biophysics from the Pennsylvania State University. He subsequently studied pharmacology at the Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and Washington University in St. Louis. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed an internship in general surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Nelson trained in otolaryngology at the University of Chicago, which included a rotation performing ear surgery in Anchorage, Alaska and one year of pediatric specialization at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. He practiced in the Cincinnati area for seven years, while his wife, a physician also, fulfilled a Public Health Service commitment. Dr. Nelson and his family returned to the Chicago area in 1995. He has been practicing otolaryngology in Lake County for almost 20 years.

Dr. Nelson has been engaged in medical research of ear diseases in adults and children at the University of Chicago for 30 years, which has generated over 20 publications. He has also held a clinical appointment at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Nelson is board certified in Otolaryngology and in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition he is a fellow member of several societies within the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, including the allergy, head and neck, otological, and rhinologic societies. Fellow membership in these organizations requires expertise beyond routine board certification and the recognition of leaders in the field. Dr. Nelson served as president of the Lake County Medical Society in 2006 and continues to serve on its executive committee.

Dr. Nelsons practice includes a broad range of ear, nose, and throat disorders. His special interests are the care of children, hearing problems, thyroid and neck surgery, and the treatment of sinus disease.
