Reproductive Endocrinology

Michelle Catennaci, MD Read Full Bio
Dr. Catenacci was born and raised outside of Detroit, Michigan. She went to medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit and then moved to Ohio for post-graduate training.

Her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology was done at MetroHealth Medical Center/Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She then stayed at the Cleveland Clinic to complete a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.

An experienced minimally invasive surgeon
Dr. Catenacci has had extensive training in the most up-to-date minimally invasive surgical techniques with experience in operative hysteroscopy for treatment of fibroids, uterine septums, and uterine adhesions. She is experienced with both traditional laparoscopy and robotic surgery in the treatment of uterine fibroids.

I was fortunate to train with some of the leaders in reproductive surgery, says Dr. Catenacci. Having such a strong surgical background is becoming more unusual in our field. I find it rewarding to be able to tackle challenging cases in the operating room.

In addition to laparoscopic surgery, Dr. Catenacci has had significant experience in tubal reanastamosis. I understand that IVF may not be for all patients and I feel that this is an important service to offer our patients.

Dr. Deutch is board-certified in both reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and in obstetrics and gynecology. He completed his fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the world-renowned Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.

He received his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Chicago, and earned his medical degree from Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, La.

Helped GE develop 3-D ultrasound technology
"My background is a little bit different from that of most physicians," says Dr. Deutch, whose undergraduate degree is in systems engineering. "During my fellowship training, my engineering background enabled me to work with GE's three-dimensional ultrasound design team."

Dr. Deutch has helped GE develop some of the newest breakthroughs in three-dimensional ultrasound. Today, his knowledge of this state-of-the-art technology gives him an edge in treating infertility patients.

"It's one thing to use three-dimensional ultrasound, and quite another to have the expertise to interpret what you're doing," he explains. Dr. Deutch uses three-dimensional ultrasound for follicular monitoring in patients undergoing in-vitro fertilization cycles.

"There are a lot of things you can see on a three-dimensional ultrasound that you can't see on a conventional ultrasound," Dr. Deutch adds. "You can pick up most of the congenital uterine anomalies much better on a three-dimensional ultrasound. This new technology also allows us to more accurately measure some of these uterine conditions - which helps us assess a woman's risks as she goes through infertility treatments."

Dr. Jones has been board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for over twenty years. He graduated from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego California. Dr. Jones attended Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan where he completed his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.

Dr. Jones began his medical career as the director of the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Naval Hospital in Oakland California where he trained residents and new infertility fellows. Dr. Jones practiced as a fertility specialist in Dearborn, Michigan for over twenty years. During that time he was also a Clinical Assistant Professor and Lecturer at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan.

His areas of interest include advances in reproductive endocrinology techniques, IVF, egg donation, preimplantation genetic testing, and fertility preservation. Dr. Jones has extensive experience in surgery, including tubal reversal surgery after tubal ligation and surgical correction of uterine abnormalities.

His philosophy of treatment is to offer all possible options and discuss the pros and cons of each treatment. He understands that many patients have already sought treatment elsewhere and know exactly what they desire to do while others are new to this and want guidance from their doctor.

Dr. Jones strongly believes that couples should be fully informed and educated so they can make the best decisions regarding their treatment.
